![]() ![]() II.What I and I believe CA aims to achieve Some of the General actions place the player at odds with his Spy, often pitting himself against his own spy which ends up with premature deaths. ![]() Within those actions there is a very limited character interaction.Actions have a randomized cost, but beyond that they are pretty plain :.In theory this was a good step yet the process of gaining those jobs is very limited which takes the concept a step back, player's involvement in the process is abstract and minimal with 'actions' such as 'increased likelihood of becoming an administrator' seem to be completely empty of meaning. Spies infiltrate factions and try to climb the ladder, stepping into different jobs(commander/administrator/council member) along the way which open different actions. This move however is less clear cut success as removing those agents from the campaign map also removed most of the player's impact on how to gain intelligence. By limiting the number of agents and removing them from the campaign map CA tried to reduce the amount of micromanagement 'try hard' players like me might encounter as the game moves on and at the same time reduce the amount of actions the A.I.This move also meant that an infiltrating spy is basically looking like just another character to be recruited ! In order to see the success of this move a player only needs to feel the paranoia of playing head to head and trying to realize which character he should hire and which he shouldn't :). The first beautiful move from CA was making the spies into just a talented characters, by doing so the players can be flexible about moving their characters from job to job determines on the faction needs without having a solo utility agent under their command.~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~Īfter having games with too many agents to having games with too few agents, Three Kingdoms tries a new path which completely changes the way we look at agents ! I am writing this post down cause I know many players felt like the current system is somewhat lack luster and demands some kind of a change but many couldn't pin point on how to do so, so lets dive into it :D \*Warning TD LR*** Hey there again fellow Redditers :) ! I am doing a 'quick post' on the spying system of Three Kingdoms which will involve analyzing it and giving improvement suggestions, this post is a bit out of my usual scope as it will deal with overhauling the system rather then what I usually like to focus on, which is smaller patachable concepts.
